Rising 5s

An important part of our pre-school is preparing children for school. We have very strong links with the local primary school, Little Eaton.

We have a programme of transition days with the school during summer terms.

This years plans include:

  • Regular visits to school reception class
  • Reception class teacher to read stories at preschool
  • Opportunity to have a lunch at the school

Younger Children

We do a lot of sensory play with our younger children, including with sand, water, playdough, flour, jelly and spaghetti. We do lots of fun activities such as baking, dough disco, park visits and lots of outdoor play in the park and surrounding fields.

Each child has their own keyworker and an individual programme for settling in. We promote strong relationships with the staff. Parents will have regular updates on how their children are doing with pictures via WhatsApp.

We teach the children Makaton signs, with new signs every week. These are added to the parents Facebook group so you can join in at home.

We accept children not yet toilet trained and are able to support you through this tricky time!
